Synopsis

On March 1rst and 2nd of 1997, a group of architects and artists lay down their beds in the public square to protest the homelessness and displacement the Tory government abetted through amalgamation, service cuts, and tax hikes. This 24-hour sculpture acts as both an abject warning and as a utopian structure inviting citizens to occupy the plaza. Organized by Adrian Blackwell, Cecelia Chen, Luis Jacob, Christie Pearson, Kika Thorne and implemented by over 100 people, the video documents their action.
