Synopsis

It's the true story of boy meets girl, boy marries girl, boy becomes girl. (QUOTE?)Shot as a video-diary, Two Brides and a Scalpel follows George Scott, a tractor driver, during his transitioning process to become Georgina Scott. The film starts with Georgina’s divorce from her previous wife and follows up with the beginning of her new life with Linda Fraser. Exposing the social dynamics of the transitioning process, Achbar and Abbott used the narrative framework of the love story to ease the viewers into the medical details of the procedure. The film played worldwide in festivals and aired in Canada on PrideVision TV and Knowledge Network.
