Synopsis
A big-budget period-piece adaptation of Michel Marc Bouchard’s 1987 stage play Les feluettes ou La repetition d’un drame romantique. Recast for cinema, the play-within-a-play with an all-male cast is about a queer adolescent triangle, two teenagers in love in the turn-of-the-century Lac St-Jean region, Simon and Vallier, plus a jealous third boy, Bilodeau, who destroys them. The action moves seamlessly through time between 1912 and the 1950s when a prison-centred re-enactment outs the guilt of now Bishop Bilodeau.
