Wearing a fake pregnant belly, underneath the Goldent Gate Bridge with images of waves superimposed, thus piece was created as part of Ross’ performance art cycle: The Pregnancy Project. Exploring the issue of some transsexual women’s relationship to the personal and institutional aspects of motherhood, the voice heard in French is an audio recording of Ross’s mother on the telephone discussing of pregnancy, birth and caring for a child.
