Filmmaker, performer, critic. Toronto-based Barry’s three experimental shorts made since 2001 have been popular in international queer festivals, including Late Night Visitor (2001, 3). This boisterous satire of “Heritage Moments” remade a tale of secret homosocial “training partners” busted by paternal repression, acted out by Barry and his co-director Evgeny Zborovsky in their underwear—all amid artefacts of the pre-Stonewall homoerotic physique movement that are “Part of Our Heritage”! Barry co-directed the rambunctious Wads and Wads (2003, 5) with John Caffery and has also collaborated with Peter Kingstone.
