Performance artist, sculptor, video maker. Originally from Whitehorse, Hannah Jickling lived in many Canadian cities before settling down in Vancouver. Her work as a performance artist centers on the reclaiming of public and collective spaces. Her 2010 video, I’d Rather Be Snow Shoveling, is a documentation of her practice and it explores the repetitive yet necessary nature of unpaid physical labour in everyday life. In 2008, she made Knee for All with Kevin Hegge, a video that challenges hetero-normativity and celebrates the taboo of asexuality and radical desire. The Super 8 film was screened in many queer film festivals nationally.
