See Douglas. Debbie. Video makers, AIDS activists. These Caribbean-Canadian, Toronto-based arts activists are known to queer audiences chiefly for their impressive debut video AnOther Love Story: Women and AIDS (1990, 30). This strongly scripted and acted didactic narrative about a Caribbean-descended lesbian community and an interracial couple coming to grips with fear, denial, and prejudice about HIV was produced within the cable access project spearheaded by Balser and Greyson at the end of the 1980s. After being blocked from the airwaves, the tape circulated nonstop within educational and community organizations and its happy ending, dental dams and all, stayed relevant as the years exacerbated the gendered epidemiology of HIV.
