Documentarist, director, scriptwriter, producer. McGill- and Columbia-trained, Toronto-based Zuckerman is best known for her prizewinning documentary on women and Judaism Half the Kingdom (NFB, 1989, 59), as well as for other broadcast documentaries on feminist and Jewish themes. A new departure was Passengers (prod. Paula Fleck, 2000, 15 , TIFF), a lyrical and well-crafted narrative about a woman driving with her lover to her father’s funeral, full of memories of their special relationship and of regrets for never having come out to him. Zuckerman continued thereafter to work in cable broadcast drama and documentary.
