Biography

DeCoteau started his career as a production assistant for cult director Roger Corman. This early experience shaped his own filmmaking and DeCoteau has since produced and directed more than 90 independent films. Known for his homoerotic horror series The Brotherhood and for the new cult classic anthology series 1313 (which, as of 2016, contains 14 films), DeCoteau became himself a cult figure in the early 2000s. In 2013, he directed A Talking Cat!? under the pseudonym Mary Crawford. This weird direct-to-DVD kids’ film became another cult hit for DeCoteau who decided to make it a franchise with the sequels A Talking Pony?! and An Easter Bunny Puppy.

DeCoteau is the founder and owner of Rebel Heart Pictures, a production company located in British Columbia.
