Biography

Director, screenwriter. After completing an MA in Communications at Concordia and a certificate in directing from INIS in 2005, Anne De Léan went into directing for television. After several small-scale projects and creating ads for Montreal firm Zulu Film, she came out with the short Un mariage comme les autres(2005, 5), a documentary on same-sex marriage that one the audience award at Image + Nation in 2007. She returned to the festival in 2009 as a panelist on the future of young queer filmmakers. Since 2007, she has made directing for TV her mainstay. From 2007 to 2010 she directed the hit primetime Québec drama Virginie and helmed the variety show On prend toujours un train pour quelque part in 2009.
