Biography

Filmmaker, producer. Born in London, England, Gordon now lives and works in Toronto. Gordon has directed several short documentaries. In 2005, she directed Group of Seven Inches with Cree visual artist and filmmaker, Kent Monkman, an erotic revision of the relationship between 19th century landscape painters George Catlin and Paul Kane and their models. Subverting the colonial ideologies of art history, the film was screened in many festivals in North America. Her next project, an experimental, multi-platform meta-narrative fiction called Listening to the City, in which fragments of overheard conversations help the actors/viewers to navigate the urban and public spaces of Toronto, is slated for release in 2015.
