Filmmaker, curator, educator. York and OISE-educated, Sandlos is active in Toronto experimental film. Two of her films have played in queer and experimental festivals at home and broad: Passing Through (1998, 12) is an experimental first-person film about memory and an evocative dialectic of butch boots and wedding dresses, girlhood remembered and caburetors exploding, rural values and urban lifestyles while sloshing through a beautifully hand-tinted meadow of pink flowers in Mount Forest, Ontario; Still Here (2001, 7), mediated through hand-processing and single-take performances, eulogizes the artist’s uncle, a gay painter who was murdered.
