Torontonian Schroder made half a dozen feminist experimental videos over a decade beginning in the mid-eighties, interrogating gender and cultural difference in the media and the art world. Among them was one of the few Canadian works to have articulated an explicit bisexual identity, The Bisexual Kingdom (1987, 22), a comic coming-out fantasy based on the TV show, “The Animal Kingdom.” Schroder later relocated to the US.
