Synopsis

A part of the OutSpoken series aired on Out TV, Back to the Land opposes the classic struggle of city life versus farm life. As the Canadian prairies population continue to suffer massive exodus to large cities, the film explores the intersection of prominent agricultural and queer movements that attempt to counter this trend by packing up and going back to the land. The documentary follows queer farmers, foodies and faeries that counter the rural-to-urban shift.
