Astroturf is comprised of four short films, each using a different science-fiction trope to explore a variety of contemporary issues. Between an historical drama of Galileo, a discussion between aliens about interstellar communication, a conversation about the binary system and a girl’s guide to the universe, Balser creates a playful space to talk about censorship, electronic evangelism, television broadcasting and environmental issues.
